EMMC Highlights Research at Expo

research-expo_230.png(Bangor, Maine) – Eastern Maine Medical Center participates in dozens of leading edge research initiatives designed to improve the health of people in our communities and beyond. On Monday, September 26, the medical center will showcase all of the innovative research happening in EMMC clinical areas, including diabetes, cardiology, cancer care, pharmacy, nursing, psychiatry, and more.
EMMC researchers and their projects will be featured throughout the day in presentations and workshops that offer continuing education credits to employees who will learn how to conduct their own research projects. Event organizers seek to increase employees’ interest in becoming investigators in research in order to open up current and future treatment opportunities to patients.
The Research Expo is the first time EMMC has showcased all of its research talent at a full day session. EMMC’s Clinical Research Center plans to make it an annual educational event.
Members of the media who are interested in joining the Plenary Session, A Spotlight on EMMC Research at 10:30 am at the State Street campus may reserve their spot by calling Community Relations at 973-9530 or emmcmediarequest@emhs.org.
