    Bangor, ME — Eastern Maine Medical Center’s energy innovations have earned the hospital an Energy Star Combined Heat and Power award from the US Environmental Protection Agency. EMMC is one of just four institutions in the United States to be recognized by the EPA for energy innovations that have cut fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

    (Bangor, ME) - Eastern Maine Medical Center was notified late Wednesday that a federal court jury in Bangor had returned a decision against the hospital in an EMTALA case that was heard in court earlier in the week. EMTALA is a federal law that ensures patients’ access to emergency medical services.

  • EMMC Land Line Phone Service Restored 08/03/2010

    (Bangor) - Eastern Maine Medical Center’s incoming phone service at the State Street campus has been restored following a digging accident on French Street in Bangor that disrupted phone service to the medical center and other area businesses and residences. Hard wired phone service to campuses at Union Street and Whiting Hill in Brewer are expected to be operational soon.

    Eastern Maine Medical Center’s incoming phone system has been interrupted by a construction incident elsewhere in the city. EMMC is down to a single incoming hardwired phone line into the main number, which may mean a busy signal for many who call that line. We are asking that people dial the main number in an emergency only, as the line should be prioritized for patient emergencies.

    On Sunday, June 6 Eastern Maine Medical Center’s CancerCare of Maine will host its annual Cancer Survivor Day at the Bangor Waterfront. The event is free and starts at 2pm. We will honor survivors, co-survivors and this year’s Community Support Award recipient. A variety of entertainment is scheduled starting with Maine Humorist Clay Folsom at 2:30pm, and classical folk rock from Aztec Two Step at 3:30pm.   • EMMC Goes Green by Hosting Employee Universal Waste Day 04/12/2010

    EMMC is proud to be able to encourage employees to lead the way in protecting the environment.
    On Friday, April 16, EMMC is hosting a spring universal waste drop-off day from 10am – 2pm where employees are able to drop off any used televisions, computers, and computer monitors to be disposed of for free. E-Waste Recycling will park a tractor trailer in the Wing Parking Lot to take the old TVs, computers, and computer monitors to be recycled.
