    Bangor, Maine – Today, Eastern Maine Medical Center and Northeast Cardiology Associates (NECA) completed an agreement to integrate the cardiology practice into EMMC’s Heart Center.   • Hope and Healing Have a New Home: EMMC Opens Raish Peavey Haskell Children’s Cancer and Treatment Ce 12/13/2012

    Local children with cancer and blood disorders have a new place to receive their life-saving care as Eastern Maine Medical Center opens the doors of the Raish Peavey Haskell Children’s Cancer and Treatment Center on Friday, December 14. An open house will be held from 1 to 6 pm at the facility, which is located on the third floor of EMMC CancerCare, in the Lafayette Family Cancer Center on Whiting Hill Road in Brewer.

  • EMMC's Emergency Department Upgrades Security Measures 11/28/2012

    EMMC has taken many precautions over the years to provide a safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. Starting Thursday November 29, EMMC will implement a security screening process that includes a walk-through metal detector for patients and visitors and an x-ray machine for items such as backpacks, purses, and packages entering the Emergency Department. Rest assured, patients presenting with a life threatening condition will receive immediate medical treatment.

  • EMMC Receives Final Approval for Modernization Project 11/08/2012

    On Tuesday, Eastern Maine Medical Center received final approval from the EMHS Board of Directors to move forward with the Modernization Project that will bring updates to surgery, cardiac, and women and infants services for patients from throughout the region who receive care at EMMC. Tuesday’s unanimous vote came a week after the EMMC Board of Trustees voted unanimously to move forward with the project that was approved by Maine’s Certificate of Need Unit in 2008.

  • Surgeons Log On From Coast to Coast to Learn About Robotic Surgery from EMMC 09/14/2012

    (Bangor, Maine) – Surgeons from coast to coast, logged on to a webinar hosted by EMMC on Thursday, September 6. During the webinar, attendees learned more about robotic surgery and the benefits it offers physicians and their patients including less pain, reduced scarring, and faster recovery. They received this information from one of the country’s first surgeons to perform robotically-assisted bariatric surgery, EMMC’s bariatric surgeon Michelle Toder, MD, FACS.

    Bangor, ME Eastern Maine Medical Center and the Maine State Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United were back at the negotiation table with the federal mediator today. After a short session, EMMC restated its final offer, the union did not respond, and the mediator ended the session around 11:30 am.
