EMMC Educational Seminar to Focus on Shoulder Pain

10/10/2014

(Bangor, Maine) – Shoulder pain and stiffness are common, but those who suffer with these symptoms don’t need to live with the discomfort. EMMC’s next educational community seminar scheduled for Thursday, October 23 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bangor will focus on the wide range of nonsurgical and surgical treatment options available to people who are dealing with shoulder problems.

“We’ll cover early treatment options including medication, injections, activity modification, home exercises, and physical therapy,” says Jessica Aronowitz, MD, a shoulder specialist at EMMC Orthopedic Surgical Specialists. “We’ll also discuss how to know when the time is right for surgery, and for those who choose this option, what they can expect before, during, and after surgery. There will be plenty of time for questions.”

The seminar is offered at no cost. Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm and the presentation will begin at 6 pm. The evening will wrap up with a question and answer session.

A preview of some of the topics that will be covered at the seminar can be found at alwaysremarkable.emmc.org. Dr. Aronowitz is featured on this new website answering common questions about shoulder pain, and visitors to the site are encouraged to submit questions of their own.

Registration for the seminar is required by visiting orthopedics.emmc.org or by calling 973-9980.
