EMMC Employees Volunteer to Brighten Bangor

05/20/2011

(Bangor, ME) – On Friday, May 20, several EMMC employees will volunteer their time to give back to the greater Bangor community by cleaning and brightening up Chapin Park in Bangor. Rain or shine, volunteers will plant flowers, spread mulch, and pick up debris between 10 am and 1pm.

Chapin Park, located next to Abraham Lincoln School in Bangor, is a great place for families to relax and play during all four of Maine’s seasons. “This is the fourth year EMMC employees are volunteering to clean up the park,” says Ray Johnson, EMMC environmental health and safety officer. “It’s been a great success each time we do this, and our volunteers always have a lot of fun.” Paul Bolin, director of EMMC Employee Relations, adds, “The Chapin Park clean-up is a good way to be involved with our neighbors and give back to our community.”

Eastern Maine Medical Center, as a member of EMHS, is proud to be an active member of the greater Bangor community. We work hard to make differences in the communities we serve.
