EMMC Goes Green by Hosting Employee Universal Waste Day

04/12/2010

EMMC is proud to be able to encourage employees to lead the way in protecting the environment.
On Friday, April 16, EMMC is hosting a spring universal waste drop-off day from 10am – 2pm where employees are able to drop off any used televisions, computers, and computer monitors to be disposed of for free. E-Waste Recycling will park a tractor trailer in the Wing Parking Lot to take the old TVs, computers, and computer monitors to be recycled.

New this spring, EMMC is making it easier for employees at the EMHS Professional Center and the Lafayette Family Cancer Center in Brewer to drop off their recyclables at the EMHS Professional Center near the Cianchette Receiving entrance from 10am – 12pm on Friday, April 16, 2010.

“We realize recycling TVs, computers, and computer monitors is expensive if people drop them off at their local transfer station,” says Ray Johnson, EMMC Environmental Health and Safety officer. “This is a free and convenient opportunity to do something good for the environment and our community.”

Eastern Maine Medical Center, as a member of EMHS, delivers exceptional care, inspiring confidence among our patients and respect from our peers. At EMMC, we provide exceptional care - for our patients, families, communities, and one another.
