Maine Discovery Museum and EMMC Offer Treats, Insurance Education Before Light Parade

12/01/2014

(Bangor, Maine) – Bangor’s Festival of Lights Parade is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the spirit of the season. This year, the Maine Discovery Museum and EMMC are adding to the celebration by inviting parade-goers to stop by the museum on December 6 between 3 and 5 pm. Refreshments will be served, and EMMC enrollment specialists will be on hand to answer questions about signing up for insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace.

“We want to welcome the community into the museum to enjoy a snack and something warm to drink and learn about our new museum programs,” says Niles Parker, executive director, Maine Discovery Museum. “We’re also looking forward to having EMMC here to provide assistance to people who have questions about signing up for health insurance.”

The museum is a unique community resource focused on providing a fun atmosphere for education, creativity, and discovery. As a pillar of downtown, it’s the ideal spot for refreshments before the parade.

“The museum is a wonderful space, and we’re excited about partnering with them on this event,” says Brenda Mulligan, CHAM, EMMC director of Access Management. “Our enrollment specialists will be available to answer questions people may have about the Health Insurance Marketplace. We’re very passionate about offering this service because having health insurance is one of the most important things people can do to say healthy.”
