Run for Hope Celebrating Heroes and Families

08/22/2008

Six year old Julia Freeman is cancer free and the Freeman family is celebrating! You can join them on September 7, 2008 as the Bangor region hosts the twenty-sixth annual Run for Hope, a tradition that has helped fund cancer prevention and clinical trials at Eastern Maine Medical Center’s CancerCare of Maine.

Celebrate  local heroes and families like the Freeman family, join other runners, joggers, and walkers for the Run for Hope, a 5K Walk & Run (RRTC certified course), on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 11:30 am at the Best Western White House Inn (Exit 180, formerly 44, off I-95, behind Dysart's).

Entry fees are $12 for individuals ($15 on race day) and $35 for a family.  T-shirts are available to the first 200 registrants for an additional cost of $5 a shirt.  If you are not running or walking but would like to make a donation, you can send a check to Run for Hope, c/o the Best Western White House Inn, 155 Littlefield Avenue, Bangor, ME  04401.

Julia’s mom, Holly Freeman, knows how fortunate we are to have quality cancer care right here in our community, “it allowed us to be around family and stay strong during one of the most difficult challenges of our lives.” You can help make a difference in the fight against cancer. Every dollar that is raised in Run for Hope will stay right here in our community helping your family, neighbors, and friends. Refreshments and door prizes will be available.
