At Eastern Maine Medical Center
The dialysis program at EMMC offers both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis services. In 1997, the patient care area was renovated to offer patients a larger, more attractive setting for care. Both chronic outpatient and acute inpatient services are available. The site offers 15 chronic stations and four acute stations for patients. At this time, 70 patients receive dialysis services in the outpatient setting.
Eleven RNs, one LPN, and seven patient care technicians are available on staff to serve patients. In addition, social work, dietary, and chaplaincy services are available to assist with patients' needs. At Eastern Maine Dialysis in Ellsworth
EMMC opened a satellite dialysis clinic in Ellsworth in January 1999, which currently serves 17 patients. David Levy, MD, serves as the medical director for the facility, whose staff includes an RN, an LPN, and a patient care technician, as well as social work and dietary staff. This satellite clinic provides patients in Hancock and Washington counties, including many summer residents, the care they need without having to drive to Bangor for treatment. For more information about Eastern Maine Dialysis, please call (207) 667-9294.
Both sites welcome visitors who need dialysis services while traveling in Maine.
