Safety and Outreach

In keeping with the mission of the organization, the clinicians and nursing staff of the EMMC Emergency Department see themselves as a resource for the community. We participate in public health messages, injury prevention programs, emergency response training and education programs, and other outreach efforts.

Child Passenger Safety SessionEMMC Emergency nurses also participate in programs at local schools, safety fairs, and provide medical care for the annual Folk Festival on the Bangor waterfront. We offer injury prevention services through our Attention 2 Prevention program. We also offer bicycle helmet fitting, and have child passenger safety technicians who are nationally certified to check and fit car seats. For more information on any of these programs, please call 207-973-7920 or 973-8562.
