Welcome to EMMC’s Telemedicine Center, the first comprehensive telemedicine service offered by any hospital in Maine. Using innovative digital communication, The EMMC Telemedicine Center links doctors and specialists to patients in real time, no matter the geographical distance, allowing providers to review, consult, and see patients via high-definition video stream to determine the best course of care.

EMMC offers immediate consultative services for an array of specialty needs, including critical care for:

    Pediatric patients
    Trauma patients 
    Patients who are experiencing signs 
        and symptoms of stroke 
    Patients in need of medications

In some instances, this technology allows patients to remain in their local hospital close to family and friends while receiving care from EMMC’s high skilled physicians. On other occasions, telemedicine allows specialists to confirm the need for patients to be transferred to EMMC for advanced care.
