The Transfer Center of Eastern Maine is designed to assist you in accessing Eastern Maine Medical Center's inpatient facilities for urgent patient evaluation, admission or transfer 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Your single call to 973-9000 or 1-877-EMMC NOW (1-877-366-2669) will connect you with an experienced registered nurse, our transfer center supervisor, who will:
Facilitate your communication with our physicians
Assure quality through recorded conversations
Arrange for an appropriate bed assignment
Expedite critical care transport, if needed
Keep you and/or your staff updated regarding arrangements for your patient
Please make sure to have the following information available when you call:
- Referring location
- Referring provider name and phone number for call back
- Patient's demographic information
- Patient's clinical information
- Patient's primary care physician

Based on specialty designed protocols, our transfer center supervisor will connect you with the appropriate provider at EMMC.
Important: Please follow current practice to access the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Maternal Fetal Medicine.
