Student Volunteer Program

The Student Volunteer Program at EMMC offers youth an outstanding opportunity to provide community service and the opportunity to learn about medical settings and develop new friendships.

The application process includes an application, personal interview and orientation. We have designed the application process similar to applying for a job to give students an experience in job search and interview skills. The deadline for applications is mid March and interviews are conducted in April and early May.

The program is open to students age 14 (must be 14 by 6/30) to 17 and acceptance into the program is based on a student’s application, personal interview and availability. Student volunteers are expected to commit to a minimum of 2 four hour shifts per week.

The 10 week program commences in mid June and concludes in early August. A student is eligible to volunteer throughout the school year once he/she has participated in the summer program.
