Price Estimates

To obtain an estimate of expected costs for services provided at EMMC, you may call a Financial Counselor in our Registration Department at (207) 866-6240 or toll-free (877) 366-3662 ext. 66240 or email billinghelp@emh.org. Pricing information on common procedures can be viewed here.

By definition, average charge means that most patient bills will have higher or lower prices than the average price for a given case or procedure. The services you receive are based on your individual needs and medical condition. Additional tests, supplies or services may be ordered by your doctor or provider, in order to treat, diagnose or care for individual needs.

Typically, a hospitalized patient receives a bill for hospital facility services plus a separate bill for professional services provided by private physicians, radiologists, pathologists, etc. EMMC employs many physicians and often includes charges for their services as part of the hospital bill. This is important to keep in mind when comparing prices for services at other hospital facilities.

Health claims data may be obtained through the CompareMaine Website. Please note that the averages found on the CompareMaine site may differ from EMMC's estimates. This is because estimates on EMMC's website include the costs of procedures and services, and the CompareMaine information includes the costs of procedures and services plus costs associated with care provided 30 days before and 30 days after the procedures and services.
