Research-Expo-2017-logo.jpg(Bangor, Maine) – Employees at Eastern Maine Medical Center seek to advance healthcare discoveries by conducting scientific research projects that help patients in our community now and in the future. On Friday, September 29, at the EMMC Research Expo, the medical center will showcase innovative research in obesity, cardiology, cancer, stroke, neonatal abstinence syndrome, Alzheimer’s, and more.

“Last year’s event was so successful we decided it would be beneficial to present our groundbreaking work annually,” says Barbara Sorondo, MD, director, EMMC Clinical Research Center. “We look forward to sharing the most recent findings and encouraging staff members to conduct their own studies.”

Presentations and workshops will feature researchers and their projects throughout the day and offer continuing education credits for employees. The expo is the second annual educational event of its kind sponsored by EMMC Clinical Research Center.
