EMMC to Clean Up Chapin Park in Celebration of National Hospital Week

Eastern Maine Medical Center employees are celebrating National Hospital Week and kicking off summer by cleaning up and beautifying Chapin Park on Friday, May 15.

“Cleaning up the park has become an annual tradition that always gets us excited,” says Randy Hussey, CHFM, CFPS, fire protection and life safety officer and chair of EMMC’s Green Team. “We really enjoy improving the park because it benefits the whole community. It’s fun to get outside and spend some time in the sun after a long winter.”

EMMC employees will plant flowers, spread mulch, and pick up trash at the park. The park is frequently used by children and families and has been the location of the annual Chapin Park Block Party since 1994.

Cleaning up the park is one of many ways EMMC celebrates National Hospital Week. This year’s celebration at EMMC is focused on employee appreciation, the hospital’s Modernization Project, and giving back to the community.
