Hope Shines Brightly This Holiday Season for Cancer Patients


Hope will shine brightly for local cancer patients when the Lights of Hope tree is lit December 12 at EMMC Cancer Care. Lights may be purchased to honor or remember a loved one. The names of the honorees will be displayed at the tree lighting ceremony. Since 2001, Lights of Hope has raised more than $240,000 to directly benefit patients at EMMC Cancer Care. 

The tree lighting ceremony will also include a performance by the Bangor Baptist Church choir and light refreshments. The event will take place Thursday, December 12 outside EMMC Cancer Care, located at the Lafayette Family Cancer Center on Whiting Hill Road in Brewer. Fellowship begins at 5:00 pm with the ceremony to take place at 5:30 pm. Reception and tours of EMMC Raish Peavey Haskell Children’s Cancer and Treatment Center will follow program. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held inside the building.
