New Surgeons Join EMMC Orthopedic Surgical Specialists


Web-Graphic.jpgEMMC Orthopedic Surgical Specialists recently welcomed surgeons Carmen Crofoot, MD, and David Newman, MD, FRCSC. Dr. Crofoot and Dr. Newman, both of whom provide hip and knee surgery as well as general orthopedic services, add to an experienced team that treats a broad spectrum of orthopedic needs.

Carmen Crofoot, MD is fellowship trained in total joint replacements and board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. Dr. Crofoot earned her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, completed a residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center, and received fellowship training at the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center. She specializes in partial knee and total hip and knee replacements using minimally invasive techniques, as well as revision surgery.

David Newman, MD is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He earned his medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine and completed his residency at McMaster University. He received fellowship training at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, completed the Perth Lower Limb Arthroplasty and Sports Medicine Fellowship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and completed an Adult Reconstruction fellowship at Queen’s University, Kingston. Dr. Newman has worked and studied in the Netherlands Antilles, the United States, Canada, and Australia. His areas of interest include partial and total hip and knee replacement, as well as revision lower limb arthroplasty.
