EMMC Pediatric Primary Care

Welcome to EMMC Pediatric Primary Care

As of March 21, our office is now located at 133 Corporate Drive in Bangor by Bangor International Airport and next door to EMMC Northeast Cardiology. We have joined Outpatient Pediatric Specialty Clinics in our new building. We are excited to see you all in our new space!

EMMC Pediatric Primary Care, formerly known as Husson Pediatrics, has been serving families in the greater Bangor area for more than 12 years. We provide complete medical care for your child from birth to age 18. EMMC Pediatric Primary Care is a member of the clinical practices of Eastern Maine Medical Center and delivers excellent pediatric well-child care and sick care with an emphasis on community pediatrics. EMMC Pediatric Primary Care has been recognized numerous times for quality care in areas of asthma care, immunization rates, as well as patient-focused care.

To help you get acquainted with our practice, we have provided you with important background information about our pediatricians, staff, office hours, appointment procedures, finance policies, directions to our office, and other useful information.

Our providers believe exceptional care is obtained when there is an ongoing relationship between the provider and the patient. We want to be lifelong partners in your child's health. We achieve this goal by listening to your questions and concerns and educating you on how to promote a healthy lifestyle for the entire family.

We now offer patients the opportunity to email their healthcare provider with any questions or concerns about their non-urgent, healthcare needs through a secure patient portal. For more information and to sign up for myEMHShealth, please see your healthcare provider.

EMMC Pediatric Primary Care office hours:
  • Winter hours (September through May): Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 7 pm, and on Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
  • Summer hours (June through August): Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 6:30 pm and Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
  • Weekend hours: We also realize your children don't always get sick at the most convenient times. That's why we're also open for sick child visits on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 12 pm.
  • There is always an EMMC Pediatric Primary Care pediatrician on call available by phone after hours. Please feel free to contact our on call provider for any urgent medical issue through the general office phone number.

Triage Nurse:
Our team of highly trained and dedicated triage nurses are available via phone from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Our triage nurses can provide you with advice regarding your child's health. At EMMC Pediatric Primary Care we try to answer calls personally, but there may be times when you should leave a detailed message on our voicemail for a non-emergency call. We will make every effort to return your call as soon as possible. If you have an emergency, please tell the receptionist who will immediately connect you with a nurse or doctor.

Office Staff:
Our office is honored to have a team of dedicated and enthusiastic medical and clerical staff. Many of our team have been with us for over a decade. It is our goal to pair each provider with a dedicated medical assistant to improve the comfort of our patients.

In Office Testing:
Our office has a basic laboratory for throat and urine tests. More extensive testing is available through our laboratory at Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Here at EMMC Pediatric Medicine, we are committed to help keeping your child safe and healthy. Part of the way we accomplish this goal is through the childhood vaccine program (baby shots). We are firmly convinced that the shots we give are safe and work well to prevent disease. We have reviewed the data and are very comfortable following the vaccine schedule as written. We believe that giving your child their shots on time is one of the best ways we can work together to keep your child healthy and prevent deadly diseases.

With very rare exceptions, all infants and children can receive all their shots on time without affecting how well they respond to the vaccine or how well their body can tolerate them. If you believe your child is one of the very rare children who cannot follow the vaccine schedule as written, we encourage you to bring these concerns to your child's provider. We believe that delaying shots puts children at risk of getting life threatening diseases.

Our office strongly encourages children to receive a yearly flu vaccine starting at 6 months of age.
