EMMC Surgical Weight Loss Nursing Staff

The care and support you receive from our EMMC Surgical Weight Loss nursing staff within the first hours after your surgery can help jumpstart your success with surgical weight loss. All of the nurses and nurse technicians on the floor you will be staying on after surgery are specially trained, competent, and well versed in the care and needs of surgical weight loss patients. Each year, staff members complete special training in order to ensure they understand best practice recommendations for the care of patients who have undergone bariatric surgery.

Connie completed her bachelor degree in nursing at University of Maine in Orono. She has worked at EMMC since 1986, 32 years on Merritt 3 Surgical. Connie manages a 52-bed medical-surgical unit at EMMC. The specialty post-operative care needed for surgical weight loss patients is taken extremely seriously at EMMC. Connie’s role is to work with the staff to make sure all patients receive exceptional care.

Assistant Nurse Manager, Merritt 3 Surgery
Danielle completed her bachelor degree in nursing at the University of Maine and began work at EMMC in 2003. She holds an ANCC medical surgical nursing certification. She assists with management of the 52-bed unit where bariatric surgery patients go after surgery.

"Our goal is to deliver excellent care to all of our patients," says Danielle. In her spare time she enjoys all outdoor pursuits including camping, fishing, motorcycle rides, four wheeling, and time in nature with her spouse and dogs.
