EMMC Seminar to Focus on Common Men’s Health Issues

(Bangor, Maine) – Elevated blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes are common health conditions that most people are comfortable talking to their doctor about. Problems in the bedroom, however, are equally important to discuss, but let’s face it: it’s not always easy to bring up the topic with your doctor. In response, EMMC is providing men with another way to get helpful information about this and other men’s health topics at a free seminar on Thursday, September 10 in Bangor.
“We will cover a wide range of men’s health topics, including erectile dysfunction, prostate issues, and other problems,” says William Sturrock, MD, a men’s health consultant at EMMC Urologic Surgery of Maine. “While many of these issues can be embarrassing to talk about, they are very common, and there are a surprising number of treatments available. Ultimately, we want to help men understand the nonsurgical and surgical treatment options that are out there and to know that there are solutions to their problems.”
Both men and women are invited to the seminar, which will begin at 5:30 pm at the Spectacular Event Center on Griffin Road in Bangor.
“Women are usually very aware of their partner’s health issues,” adds Dr. Sturrock.
“In fact, we find that women are often compelled to help their partner take those first steps toward finding a solution. That’s why we encourage women and men to attend the seminar together.”
Dinner and a presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. Registration is required by visiting menshealth.emmc.org or by calling 947-0469.
